Welcome to the Department of Accounting and Banking!
We are dedicated to excellence in education by providing quality teaching and curriculum in the Bachelor’s Degree Programme, conducting timely applied research, and professional outreach activities.
Our Programme is unique in combining accounting with banking. In the field of accounting, the Programme is recognized by international professional bodies such as the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Association of International Accountants (AIA) . The curriculum is designed to ensure that students acquire the core knowledge and skills required for a professional accounting designation. In the field of banking, the curriculum is structured to help students develop knowledge and competencies needed in the banking industry. We believe good knowledge of accounting will make better banking executives.
On November 15, 2025, our department’s representative team performed outstandingly in the finals of the “6th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Accounting and Business Knowledge Competition” held at Foshan University, winning the runner-up position. This achievement showcases the solid results of our college in accounting and business education, as well as the excellent professional qualities and teamwork abilities of our students. The competition was organized by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation Promotion Association, supported by the governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, along with several professional organizations, such as Guangdong CICPA, HKICPA, and Macau’s MSCPA. It attracted 36 universities from Hong Kong, Macao, and Guangdong Province, with a total of 71 teams and 284 students participating.
To develop students’ lifelong learning skills and employability, the Faculty of Business provides students with internship placement opportunities at local CPA firms, banks and government departments, and exchange opportunities at overseas partner institutions. Upon completion of the Programme, students will be well equipped to pursue a wide range of careers in the fields of accounting and banking.
