HKICPA Approved Accountancy Programme

The degree programme BCom (Hons) in Accounting and Banking is accredited by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) as an approved accountancy programme under the Institute’s Qualification Programme (QP).

ACCA Exemptions

Students graduating from our programme can be awarded exemptions F1 – F9 from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).



History of the Department

The degree programme in Accounting and Banking was one of our first programmes introduced in the College. For more than five decades, the programme has been nurturing a significant number of talented graduates with specialised knowledge and skills in accounting and banking.

Easing the Long-existing Shortage of Accounting and Banking Professionals in Hong Kong

As the result of economic boom in the mid – 1960s, there was a significant need for accounting and banking professionals in Hong Kong and our College subsequently nurtured a significant number of graduates to serve in the field of accounting. Similarly in the early 1970′s, when the banking sector in Hong Kong was thriving, our graduates had many opportunities to develop their careers in both the accounting and the banking disciplines with their solid knowledge.
